Siraj Kobeisy, 15-02-2010

The Week of the Resistance is on the run, and people are ongoing many activities as commemorations of the anniversary of the martyrdom of the three leaders: Sheikh Ragheb Harb, Sayyed Abbass Moussawi, and Haj Imad Moghniyeh. Ressalat, the Lebanese committee for arts, is working on a different yet special performance to be presented on the 16th of February on the official commemoration ceremony.

The performance will be presented through an introduction, three body parts, and an ending. The introduction will pave the way for the three levels that are represented by three colors, white for Sheikh Ragheb, Black for Sayyed Abbass, and Yellow for Haj Imad Moghniyeh.

In an interview with Moqawama.org, Nasri Hijazi, the poet who wrote this year's Ressalat RESSALAT… A Continuous Art Galleryperformance for the week of the resistance, said: "This year, the organizers asked that the performance would focus on the words instead of the music and instruments. Here we faced a difficulty in finding an unusual style of writing for this performance. The idea came along with colors, in a combination of White, Black and Yellow, forming a Mural of Victory."

"The work or art within colors was difficult while thinking of a way to deliver the correct message and theme of each color and their resemblance, but we were able to maintain the perfect image of the Mural of Victory."

He added that there will be a theatrical work directed by Hassan Badr El Deen representing the colors, accompanied by the musical performance.

Hussein Z'aiter, one of the organizers of the performance and chorale, talked about the training of the choir and participants of the performance. "The training and preparation period started almost a month ago, where coming up with the words, musical distribution, and chorale training took place".

Mr. Z'aiter added that the performance is to focus on the theatrical and chorale part, which made them think it's better to present without any musical instruments, but the music will be set as playback.

When asked if the participants are volunteers, he said: "Most of the participants mainly have been volunteers in the Lebanese committee for arts Ressalat, for two years now. They are glad to participate in delivering a message of victory in the path of Ahl Al Beit, with a good way of cooperation and response from both the participants and the organizers of the performance."

Another major participant and a significant voice in the Ressalat chorale, Ismail Abbass presented Moqawama.org with the motives of such a performance, stating that the major motive of this year's activity is to spread a wider message of the victory and the true path of the resistance. He also referred to the new style of performance this year. "As a change, this year's performance is not only based on music and the chorus, but also on the theatrical act which will play a role in activating the meaning of the words."

He also added that in his opinion, the performance which will be represented this year will have a greater impact on the audience and those interested in the art path of the resistance.

People are waiting for Tuesday, the 16th of February to see and watch how the performance will turn out to be. It is expected that the act will have a big and outstanding effect on the audience, a way of representing and delivering the message of victory and resistance. This will be a great introduction, paving the way for H.E. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to deliver his awaited speech.
