Khalil: Hizbullah-Amal Alliance in upcoming elections is an example to all parties
Local Editor, 10-04-2010
Development and Liberation bloc MP Ali Hassan Khalil said that the alliance between the Amal Movement and Hizbullah in the upcoming municipal elections is final and should be considered as an example to all parties for the sake of political stability in Lebanon, assuring that this alliance is not a sectarian or regional alliance.
Amal and Hizbullah agreed last week to run in the municipal elections together instead of forming two separate lists.
On another note, he said that all parties should discuss enhancing the capabilities of the Resistance and embrace it. He called for surpassing any discussion of Hizbullah's arms issue in upcoming national dialogue sessions.
Khalil also said that the Amal Movement supports holding the municipal elections-set to begin on May 2 in Mount Lebanon-on time.
