Jumblatt Warns of Enemys Hidden Intentions, Criticizes Government Indolence
Local Editor
Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt warned during an interview with As-safir newspaper of Zionist intervention in the Lebanese affairs, and indicated that "We are used to "Israel" concealing a matter, without our awareness."
Jumblatt revealed that the latest Zionist threats worried him, because they could be the first step to wage an aggression against Lebanon.
He added, "We all remember the 80s and Philip Habib, when "Israel" announced that if it was targeted by Lebanon, the response with be very harsh. At that time they made up the attempt of assassinating the "Israeli" ambassador in London, and invaded Lebanon after that."
Jumblatt considered that "Today the Zionists publicized the "Scud" missiles issue as an excuse to stress and commerce."
He advised those "Lebanese who insist on raising the resistance arms issue" to stop the entire discussion, "because this is not a simple case, it is a great one, and any defense plan falls under the cooperation between government, people, and resistance."
