Fneish: Confronting “Israeli” Threats Through Municipal Elections Based on Proportionality
The Minister of Administrative Development Mohammad Fneish expressed that the municipal elections undertaking was accompanied by political understanding between Hizbullah and Amal Movement, on the grounds that South Lebanon and other areas, where both parties are present, stating "90 percent of the population there rally under our political ceiling."
Therefore noting that there is no political competition in this undertaking, because the participants, whether under a coalition or competition banner "Are the sons of this political line, and because of the limited number of seats and options."
During his patronage of an Awards giving ceremony of the two contests, "Al-Zahra and Imam
Mehdi (p)", organized by the Association of Religious Education in Al Mustafa Schools - Nabatieh, Minister Fneish drew out that "Some may disagree with us in the assessment of the selected persons, this is their right, as we do not consider anyone disagreeing with us as being outside our political line" and added "This election has a political dimension, even though principally it is developmental."
Fneish confirmed "The goal of the Hizbullah -Amal alliance is to spare villages a state of fragmentation and friction, and in order not to forget that we are still susceptible to all forms of "Israeli" dangers and threats, in addition to economic, social and service problems.
Accordingly cooperation at the general overall political level is necessary," indicating that "The response to all of these challenges is by going through this undertaking on the basis of proportional representation" without turning this understanding into a cancelling out of the wishes of the people or standing contrary to them, considering we resorted to the 2004 election results."
Finish added "Some saw the accord we sought, which extended to include different regions, as an antithesis of democracy, therefore we ask, is accord between homogeneous political forces that share mutual understanding incompatible with democracy in our areas only, while it is not seen as such in other regions where that occurred between opposing political forces?!"
Commenting on the Zionist enemy's campaign against the resistance on the "Scud" missiles matter, Minister Fneish found that this campaign aims to mask what "Israel" is preparing for, and its Judaization activities in Palestine.
The Minister wondered "Why do they have the right to arms, and we do not even have the right to think about acquiring the means to defend our territory and sovereignty, at a time when they occupy parts of Arab territories in the Golan and continue their occupation settlement project in Palestine?!"
Fneish concluded that "The stage of blackmail and pressure has ended, it is our right to possess all forms of strength to defend our land and existence, nor is our internal situation, round the defense system of our land as specified in the Ministerial Statement based on the army-people-resistance equation, the concern of any international side either."
Any side wanting to deal with Lebanon ought to that through the government, and through our political and constitutional choice, bearing in mind there are no indications in the field of a pending Zionist aggression.
