Maariv: Frustration in "Israel" over Jumblatt’s Statements

A state of frustration has hit "Israeli" leaderships following statements made by Lebanese MP and head of the Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt, "Israeli" daily Maariv newspaper reported.

Jumblatt said that he cannot tolerate a peace treaty with "Israel", stressing that Lebanon does not want peace or settlement with "Israel" even if the Zionist state proposed a pullout of Lebanese territories in return.

MP Jumblatt added that Lebanon can venture in peace only when a Palestinian state is established and refugees return to their homeland Palestine.

According to Maarive, "Israel" bargained on Jumblatt and other political leaders in Lebanon.

"Jumblatt's statements and refusal to talks about peace or truce with "Israel" prove that the road to peace between Lebanon and "Israel" is still long", the Zionist daily stated, adding that "bargaining on Arab opposition is a losing bargain".
