President Lahoud: Former Political Party Still Bargaining on a New Zionist War on Lebanon
Lebanon's former President General Emile Lahoud has stated that a "former political party continues, to this day, to bargain on a new Zionist war on Lebanon or an American war in the region to rid of the resistance's weapons."
Lahoud's statements were made to Iranian Wifaaq daily, as he stressed that he still adheres to his previous position on, "the need to embrace the resistance weapons until the Palestinian cause and the return of the refugees and the liberation of all occupied Arab soil and the achievement of just and comprehensive peace in the region are [all] solved."
Lahoud accused the Zionist entity of assassinating former Premier martyr Rafik Hariri by employing fundamental extremists in a bid to stir troubles and sedition in Lebanon.
The former President raised concern over the use of the special International Tribunal for Rafik Hariri in sedition, which is the sole thing the Zionist regime, according to Lahoud, can resort to in the absence of its incapacity to wage a new war.
President Lahoud lauded the tri-summit which brought together Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Syrian President Bashar Assad, and the Secretary General of Hizbullah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in Damascus early last month, stressing that after this summit, Europe, America, and the Zionist regime have had to make reconsiderations.
Lahoud considered that the Scud issue comes in the context of a programmed campaign against the resistance and Lebanon.
The former General also pointed out that the western threats and sanctions against Iran will drive Iran to come out triumphant despite all crises and pressures against it.
Lahoud drew a similarity between the campaigns against Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the campaigns he came under during his presidency tern in Lebanon, adding that the delegations of United States, England, and France shunned President Nejad in the New York Conference in the same manner they did to Lahoud during their visits to Lebanon.
Lahoud emphasized his faith that Iran would win and would not break under bargaining and pressures.
The former Lebanese President confirmed the Islamic Republic's right to a peaceful nuclear program, criticizing the duality of standards adopted by the international community concerning everything relating to the Zionist regime.
Lahoud considered the United States the source of all pressures against Iran on its nuclear program, adding that the French and British compliance as well that of the remaining western countries are to what America dictates because, according to Lahoud, America is stronger and they need the United States.
