Following the "Israeli" forces attack on Gaza aid convoy on its way to Gaza, Turkish protesters attempted to storm the Israeli" consulate, calling on the Turkish government to expel the "Israeli" ambassador.

The attack of the "Israeli" military against the Turkish aid ship would normally be considered an act of war, as it was an unprovoked attack in international waters, but the "Israeli" government has not made a statement, apart from summoning the "Israeli" ambassador for a meeting.

Protesters in Istanbul pressed up against Turkish police who lined up to protect the "Israeli" consulate, shouting 'Damn Israel', as reports of casualties on board the aid ships arrived via cellphone and twitter feeds.

In a telephone call with Turkish peace activist and member of Kudus Yolu (Way to Al Quds) Organization, Muhammad Jihad Ebrari said that protests are still ongoing in the different Turkish cities and at the same time meetings are still convened between the different organizations and associations concerned with this matter.

"The government summoned the "Israeli" ambassador and has demanded an explaination, but no action has been taken yet other than that. Tens of thousands of Turkish people are in the streets but clashes have stopped with the Turkish police."

"In case no action is taken soon by the Turkish government, the people will attack the "Israeli" consulate again and shut it by force" Ebrari said.

A Turkish Foreign Affairs release said that "we protest in the strongest terms the use of force by the "Israeli" Forces against the civilians from many countries who want to transport humanitarian assistance to the people in Gaza, and among whom there are women and children, which, according to the initial information available, resulted in the death of 2 persons and injury of more than 30 people."

Turkey has demanded and explanation from "Israel's" Ambassador in Ankara who has been summoned to Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Protests were reported at other "Israeli" consulates around Europe, but the protest in Turkey is the largest and most vocal at the time of this writing.

The protesters challenged "Israel's" massacre of non-violent humanitarian aid activists as an act of piracy, as the attack took place in international waters.

All of the activists on board the ships were subjected to extensive searches, and all aid was fully inspected before leaving Cyprus and other ports - the mission was fully humanitarian in nature, and all 800 activists on board the ships adhered to non-violence and passive resistance as their response to the armed "Israeli" assault on their ships.
