Opposition Sweeps in the North Municipal Elections

The final level of the municipality elections took place in North of Lebanon and Akkar on Sunday.
Results revealed a sweep for the Eighth of March political groups in most of the Northern towns.
Sunday elections were over 212 out of 238 municipal councils.

Preliminary results revealed the Victory of Free Patriotic movement, Marada Trend, and the National party in most of the sections, where a noticeable victory was marked in Batroun, as they gained 6511 votes while their counters took 2328 votes.

Based on these results Marada party gained 17 out of 23 towns in the united Zgharta municipals.
