Save the Children: 800,000 Gazan Children Living Under Blockade

Save the Children is a non-profit organization working to create positive, lasting change for disadvantaged children in different nations of the world.
Concerning the "Israeli" severe blockade in Gaza, the organization says that 800,000 children are included among the Gaza population, which could be summed up by UNICEF to 1.5 million, where 44% of the population is under 14 years old.
Humanitarian agencies around the world are busy all the time since "Israel" conducted its savage siege on Gaza, which now approaches its fourth year.
The 2008-2009 "Israeli" assault on Gaza, according to the UNICEF killed more than 1,400 Palestinian civilians, of 350 were children.
The blockade clearly is violating articles 33 and 55 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which state the prohibition on collective punishment and duty to provide food and health care to the occupied population.
UNICEF also reports that around 280 schools were destructed in Gaza, which caused in the disruption of the education of Gaza kids, and 82.50% of education facilities destroys during the Gaza war, have not yet been repaired or reconstructed.
A Human Rights Watch report, which was published last month, considered that Egypt shares responsibility for the collective punishment of Gaza's civilian population, because it conducted the closure of the Rafah crossing to Gaza.
The almost ninety-year old organization, Save the Children, said in a statement published in its website, "We believe we have an obligation to assist children in great need regardless of race, religion or politics".
