The Council of "EUTELSAT "French broadcasting has made the decision to stop broadcasting Al Aqsa TV in Gaza City, which comes in effect today, Wednesday.
According to a Press release issued by Al Aqsa TV Channel, "Nour Sat", the host of the channel stops the broadcast via satellite after 48 hours from the date of this decision.
Al-Aqsa TV satellite said it believes this decision has no relevance or legal justification, not based on the Law of satellite broadcasting, the laws of public freedom and the laws of International journalistic work. In its press release, Al Aqsa also said it finds the decision to stop its broadcasting, a subject to respond to the needs of "Israeli' and American to conceal the truth and suppress public freedoms.
In the face of this flagrant abuse, the Channel called upon the Council of Arab Information Ministers to hold emergency meeting and take the legal moves to ensure journalistic freedom of Arab media institutions.
Al-Aqsa TV also said it holds the French government responsible for the adoption of this resolution and its consequences thereof. In response we call on them to respect and cohere to international and humanitarian laws which ensure the freedom of opinion and expression.
There have always been attempts banning and blacking out certain media outlets that do not serve the "Israeli"-American image, while no reaction is seen from international organizations in defense of public freedom and journalistic work.
