Lebanon: US Embassy Spokesperson Confirms Some Lebanese Media Received Funds to Tarnish Hizbullah Image

In response to comments by Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc MP Nawwaf Moussawi, in which he referred there is a possibility the resistance will sue those who worked to tarnish Hizbullah's image, cultural and media spokesperson at the US embassy in Beirut, Ryan Kelleher said that part of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent in Lebanon were paid to "some media outlets"..

Kelleher told OTV Lebanese channel "We provided this support transparently to the people and media, unlike others."
 
He also stated that the testimony of former US ambassador to Lebanon Jeffrey Feltman was transparent, asserting that "the US is committed to continuing this support, and that the recent allegations driven by Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Nawwaf Moussawi are baseless accusations that will not change US support to Lebanon."
