MP Raad: “Neutrality is an Impossible Scenario in Lebanon”

Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Block MP Mohammad Raad criticized those who keep raising the question of the neutrality of Lebanon, assuring that they are not aware of the size of the problem between Lebanon and the "Israeli" enemy.

He pointed out that the issue of Swiss neutrality they so dearly use as a reference would have never happened if Switzerland had a weak army during the Second World War, which was definitely not the case. The latter was a direct reason why the Nazi army changed its calculations when it decided to invade Switzerland. Another reason for the occurrence of this issue was due to the fact that Switzerland was surrounded by countries that accepted its neutrality to become their own bank, and an area to make way for their human interests.

During a memorial ceremony in Eastern Zawtar town, Raad asked: "let's assume that the theory of neutrality of Lebanon is one the Lebanese accept at one point in time. What guarantees us that the 'Israelis' will accept this notion?" He concluded by saying that "The notion of neutrality is impossible in Lebanon."

Raad also expressed his confusion to the way some people treat "Israel" as a neighbor. He commented on this saying "We may view a statement of this kind as a slip of the tongue, a mishap, or an oversight of the political context of the given statement. However, when some insist on using statements or expressions that carry more than one meaning, by those delusional enough to believe that they can market their convictions through such proclamations! To those we have to say: "You are wrong. We do not want the best of relations with all of Lebanon's neighbors."

Raad added, "We accept Egypt as the brother of Lebanon in addition to Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Yet if the term ‘neighbor' is so that we can include 'Israel', then we will definitely wave all bets on the probability of being neighbors with 'Israel' because they are existential enemies of our people, country, nation and best of interests, as well as our abilities, dignity and pride. They are rapists of all that's holy to us. They are occupiers of the land of our siblings and brothers, and they can never be our neighbors."
