Head of the "Lebanon Doctors' Gathering", Doctor Ghassan Jaafar, called for a total break of the ongoing Gaza siege of which its citizens suffer a lot.
Jaafar told Al Intiqad correspondent in the Gaza Strip "We hope that- by our arrival to the Strip- have laid the first bricks of breaking the medical siege of Gaza, and we hope that the Arab Doctors' Gathering take practical steps towards helping the Palestinian Health Sector."
Jaafar, who arrived to the Gaza Strip with 8 other doctors through the Rafah crossing, said that this visit to the Strip is an initiative from the Doctors' Gathering following aid calls through Lebanese media outlets, and after receiving medical aid from the Lebanese Health Minister Mohammad Jawad Khalifeh that was sent to the Gaza Ministry.

Jaafar -after visiting multiple hospitals in the Strip- assured that "the medical status of some hospitals is terrible and reported lack of the different necessities," stating that he will deliver this image to Lebanon in an attempt to provide more Health Sector necessities.
On how he feels towards his visit to the Gaza Strip, Jaafar said "We are happy to have stepped foot on the land of Palestine, and that we are now in the resistant Gaza Stip that is home to the tomb of our Great Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). We are glad that despite the lack of necessities, yet the medical sector is still holding on."

It is worth mentioning that the visit of the medical delegation of the Doctors' Gathering extends until Thursday, as the delegation will be visiting Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and some of the destructed areas.
