Meshaal Laments the Death of Sayyed Mohammad Husein Fadlallah
Local Editor
Head of Hamas Political Bureau, Khaled Meshaal, sent an obituary letter to Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, lamenting the loss of his father, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Husein Fadlallah.
The letter read as follows:
Peace be Upon You (Assalam A'laikum)
On my behalf, and on behalf of my brothers in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, and its political bureau, I present you and your generous family, with great condolence and consolation, mixed with feelings of sadness and pain, in acceptance to God's will, for the death of your dear father, the great deceased scholar, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Husein Fadlallah.
The letter further read:
The dear deceased was one of the nation's special and great figures, with his knowledge, grace, moderation, mediation, forgiveness and openness to others, in addition to his courageous stances regarding the nation's issues, especially towards the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Zionist struggle.
His Eminence was one of the greatest symbols and scholars defending the choice of resistance and Jihad against the occupation, in support of the Palestinian strife and our people's right to freedom, liberty and liberation.
Meshaal continued saying:
In the light of what brought us along with the great deceased of a special relation, and good contact and cordiality, our feeling of pain and great loss then is bigger, but we cannot say but what pleases God: To God We Belong and to Him We Shall Return.
Khaled Meshaal concluded his statement; hoping God will inspire the deceased's family with patience and consolation, hoping they would keep the great message previously with His late Eminence, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Husein Fadlallah.
