Moussawi: According to France, 400,000 Palestinians in Lebanon Are Terrorists
In an interview with LBCI on Wednesday, Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc member MP Nawwar Moussawi emphasized on the importance of including the specific definition of terrorism in the Lebanese-French security cooperation, because France and Lebanon have different opinions on the definition of terrorism.
Moussawi indicated that according to France's definition of terrorism, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Lebanon are terrorists saying, "There are 400,000 Palestinians in Lebanon and most of them are organized in factions."
Moussawi assured that he agrees with Lebanese Interior Minister Ziad Baroud's proposal to define terrorism based on the Arab Convention against Terrorism, which regards all violent actions serving criminal ends as terrorist activities.
Loyalty to the Resistance MP said, "We must not rush into making a decision regarding this convention."
"France and Lebanon must be clear in order to avoid any conflicts," he added.
Discussion of the Lebanese-French Security Cooperation convention led to tension in parliament on Tuesday.
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri assured that the security convention would be canceled if Lebanon's definition of terrorism was not added to the convention.
