What's different about the famous Turkish author and political analyst Roni Margulies is that -as a Jewish individual, he feels no bond with the "Israeli" entity, but rather considers it as illegitimate.

Margulies is a leader in the socialist party in Turkey and a prominent writer in the widely read "Taraf" newspaper. He has many books of poetry, all of which are about Turkish internal affairs, including one well known book entitled "The Heart of the Heartless World". Margulies writes about many subjects, including the struggle between the Kamalists and the Islamists as well as the Palestinian struggle.

In an interview with moqawama.org, Margulies expresses his opinion concerning questionable subjects.

"I'm a Turkish citizen, I don't give a damn about the "Israeli" state, I don't see any particular bond or link or anything towards it", he stressed.
Margulies commented on the legitimacy of the "Israeli" entity, where he believes it to be an illegitimate state stating "It is the most dangerous place for Jews today."

"In terms of current international law, it's not a legitimate state because it's not lawful for a group of people from one part of the world, to go to another part of the world and tell the local population "this is our land, we will live here, you cannot live here", this is not legitimate in any terms: legal, moral, ethical, and in every sense...is illegitimate", Margulies stated.

The Political analyst also has his views on Hizbullah, regarding the past 2006 war in Lebanon and its effects on the "Israeli" image in the area.
Margulies was impressed with the fact that Hizbullah is an organization which brought together Muslims, Christians, and communists, even though Hizbullah is particularly a Muslim organization.

"I think it was important to show that the resistance to "Israel" wasn't just Muslim, but Muslim, Christian, and communist, all together".

The 2006 summer war, Margulies believes it to be an important event that took place in history, since it was the first time "Israel" was defeated and reached none of its targets. He adds that after the 2006 war, one important aspect which led to the "Israeli" defeat was "who" the "Israelis" were fighting.

"It was the first time the world witnessed "Israel" fighting not armies, but civilians", Margulies expressed.

This issue to Margulies was very important since, after the 33 day war in Lebanon it was repeated in the attack on Gaza in 2008.

"They were always destroying the water facilities, the schools, the electricity plants, infrastructure, obviously fighting a civilian society", he said in reference to the "Israeli" aggression on Gaza.

In the current year, this aspect was re-emphasized when the "Israelis" attacked the Freedom Flotilla aid ships sailing to Gaza.

"The "Israelis" themselves were not able to claim that there were armed people in the boat, yet still it was attacked", the Turkish writer said.

Fighting civilians and not armies, Margulies thinks, is the main reason for the recurrent defeat of "Israel".

Margulies is one of the many Jewish individuals who have viewed the "Israeli" actions as failures. Margulies has always been known for defending the Palestinian rights and all resistance movement throughout the world. His books, when translated to other languages, would be a delight to read.
