Iran Discusses Fuel Swap Declaration with Turkey, Portugal

In the framework of following up with the fuel swap declaration, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu, met aiming for a suitable opportunity for peaceful nuclear cooperation between the two states.
According to IRIB, both ministers met in Portugal, which is part of the Iranian Foreign Minister's tour in Europe, where they discussed bilateral concerns over Tehran's nuclear fuel declaration.
While Mottaki was in Portugal, he met with the country's top officials, including his Portuguese counterpart, Luis Amaso, where both discussed regional and international developments, including Iran's nuclear program.
Portuguese officials expressed optimism regarding a peaceful nuclear program, especially due to the positive atmosphere created after Tehran's nuclear declaration.
Tehran's declaration was issued on May 17 between Iran, Brazil and Turkey. The declaration stated that Iran is to exchange 1.200 of low-enriched uranium with Turkish fuel for Tehran research reactors.
