Prior to her three-day visit to the occupied territories, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton urged "Israel" to open the Gaza border crossings and allow goods in and out the strip, Zionist newspaper Haaretz reported.

"We stand ready to support the opening of the Gaza crossings for the traffic of goods to and from Gaza," Haaretz quoted Ashton saying.

Ashton called for the Zionist enemy to implement the decision it took in response to its deadly raid against Freedom flotilla to lift the ban on some products prohibited from entering the besieged strip.

"The European Union has been calling for an urgent and fundamental change of policy regarding the closure of Gaza," Ashton continued.

According to the newspaper, Ashton will be meeting during her visit that starts Friday, with "Israeli" and Palestinian leadership - including Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as the Quartet's special envoy to the Middle East, Tony Blair.

Due to the international pressure the Zionist entity faced after its Navy's deadly raid against the Gaza aid carrying Freedom Flotilla, "Israel" approved to loosen its three-year-old blockade on Gaza, and allow some "specific" goods and materials into the Strip.
