Lebanese Cabinet Agrees on Filing Complaint to the UNSC over “Israeli” Espionage
In a meeting headed by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, the Lebanese Cabinet agreed on filing a complaint to the United Nation Security Council (UNSC) over the "Israeli" espionage networks in Lebanon.
Lebanese Information Minister, Tarek Mitri, said that the government has agreed to send a detailed report over the espionage networks, considering them as violations of the resolution 1701.
Mitri added that the government approved the establishment of a commission to supervise and monitor the communication networks.
Furthermore, Tarek Mitri referred to what Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri said, stating that the government has done its duty to provide stability, and stressing on the importance of protecting the country from the "Israeli" enemy.
On the other hand, Mitri revealed that Hariri spoke about the new levels of the Lebanese-Syrian relations, referring to the importance of taking advantage of it, calling his visit to Syria as constitutive for mutual stances.
On the Lebanese level, Mitri concluded Lebanese PM's stance, in which he affirmed dialogue as the best way for internal communication and understanding.
Concerning the latest "Israeli" espionage scandal, Minister of Information delivered Interior Minister Ziad Baroud's confirmation that the Internal Security Forces and the Army have done their role in revealing the identity of the espionage agents.
In response to some ministerial comments over His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech, opposition minister Hussein Haj Hassan said, "Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is assiduous to calming down the status, and he did not refer to any sect when he spoke about the supporting environment to agents".
Regarding the international tribunal, Haj Hassan clarified that Hizbullah is keen to know the truth about the assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri. Haj Hassan also questioned the indictment of the tribunal as long as it's supposedly truthful.
