Former Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, and Progressive Socialist Party leader, Deputy Walid Jumblatt, met on Monday over a family dinner at Lahoud's in presence of Jumblatt's wife and son Taymour, as well as Former MP Emile Lahoud, his wife, and Ralph Emile Lahoud.

Lahoud's information bureau issued a statement indicating that both men recollected the history of both families and the days of Kamal Jumblatt and Jamil Lahoud, who shared robust national convictions of Arab and social character.

"Lahoud and Jumblatt share common national denominators in spite of some varying political opinion," statement read.

"The unity of Lebanon and the people, the immunity of the Lebanese army and Resistance, cementing relations with Syria, facing the "Israeli" enemy's dangerous and supported expansion plots in Lebanon, Palestine, and the region, are all common denominators for a unified national struggle which joins both men," statement concluded, hoping that their sons and grandsons will walk on the same path of patriotism and dignity.
