As-Sayyed Hussein: Bill of Power Cut Should be Passed As Soon As Possible
Local Editor
Minister of State Adnan As-Sayyed Hussein assured that the Council of Ministers discussed the power-cut issue in its previous session, highlighting that this crisis needs time to be resolved. He considered that the people have the right to express themselves but without any riot or violence.
In an interview with a radio station, As-Sayyed Hussein added that a ship (for additional power supplies) will be arriving in the upcoming days to Lebanon.
Sayyed Hussein called on the parliament to pass the bill as soon as possible, adding "The electricity plan needs the state budget to be approved in the parliament in order for it to be carried out."
On another note, As-Sayyed Hussein also said that the issue of witnesses who gave false testimonies to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is delicate.
He rejected the saying that the Lebanese judiciary cannot follow up on the case (of the false witnesses) regarding the independency of the international tribunal's decision from that of the Lebanese judiciary, calling upon the general prosecutor to follow up on this issue.
