Assad Receives Hariri, Assures Importance of Proceeding Pacification and Supporting Resistance

Syrian President Bashar Assad received Lebanese PM Saad Hariri in Damascus, and emphasized on the importance of proceeding in the path of pacification and supporting the resistance to solve the problems related to the Lebanese issue.

Syrian news agency Sana clarified, "Assad assured the importance of proceeding in the pacification and negotiations path to solve the related issues," pointing out, "Assad stressed on the importance of strengthening national agreement and supporting the resistance, which preserves Lebanon's strength and protects it from external dangers threatening its security and stability."

Furthermore, SANA indicated that the negotiations covered the positive results of the trilateral summit between Assad, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, and Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz last month in Beirut.

On his part, PM Hariri assured that Assad and Abdullah's "historical" visit to Lebanon, "Assures Syria and the Kingdom's concern on Lebanon and support to its national unity."

The Syrian news agency added that Syrian President and Hariri discussed the special Syrian and Lebanese relations, which reassures the depth of the historical relations between the two peoples and the strengthened cooperation between them.

"They also assured their concern on proceeding what has been accomplished on the bilateral cooperation level and their common desire to continue the negotiations and arrangements that serve the two people's benefits, in addition to the Arabs' benefits," the news agency added.
