Al Akhbar: French Ambassador Officially Requests Meeting Hizbullah S.G.

French Ambassador in Beirut, Denis Pietton officially requested a meeting with Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in order to convey the new French "reading" of the situation, Al Akhbar newspaper reported.
According to the daily, this request comes after French officials in the Foreign Ministry got convinced of the threat embodied in the issuance of the indictment, yet French officials in the Embassy in Beirut refused to comment on the matter.
The daily also revealed that "The Parisian interpretation of the situation in Lebanon and the region is changing" clarifying that the French did not see -during the previous months- that the STL indictment related to the former PM Hariri assassination will affect Lebanon's stability.
The French received many Arab officials during the past weeks and studied the different points of view and facts taking place, to finally come up with a Syrian-Saudi-French agreement on the necessity of avoiding crisis and strife in Lebanon, the paper highlighted.
Moreover, Al Akhbar reported "If Pietton meets with Hizbullah S.G. Sayyed Nasrallah, he will emphasize that France is not in line with the others concerning the indictment, and that there are no French intentions when it comes to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
It is also expected that the French Ambassador will stress that France sees the indictment as a threat to all the Lebanese, and of no interest to anyone.
