Aoun: I Urge Citizens Not to Obey Police Intelligence Bureau because it is an Armed Gang

Head of the Free Patriotic Movement MP Gen. Michel Aoun launched a fervent attack on the Intelligence Bureau calling it "an armed gang". 

Aoun stressed that the Intelligence Bureau does not abide by the laws and performs all kinds of tasks as if it is a multi-task unit that does the work of multiple intelligence agencies.

Aoun wondered who is in charge of the intelligence bureau and who monitors its budget, stating "It is a big game, it is not a coincidence."

The MP said after the movement's weekly meeting: "Talk of a state is a big lie because this is a failed state and there are great efforts to destroy it."

Aoun assured that the Intelligence Bureau existence violates all laws and regulations, highlighting the difference between security forces that carry weapons to maintain peace and protect the law and the Intelligence Bureau that form "an armed gang" and violate the law all the time.

Addressing former General Security chief Jamil Al Sayyed's recent stances regarding the investigation in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, Aoun demanded the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee to investigate with General Prosecutor Saeed Mirza, Internal Security Forces chief Ashraf Rifi, and head of the Intelligence Bureau Wissam Al Hasan because they followed up on the investigation in the crime.
