According to the Information Bureau of Lebanese Presidency, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, accompanied by his wife, First Lady Wafaa Suleiman, left on Wednesday to New York on top of a delegation comprised of Ministers Ali Shami (Foreign Affairs and Expatriates), Ziad Baroud (Interior and Municipalities), Ghazi Aridi (Public Works and Transportation), and Salim Warde (Culture), as well as a security and administrative delegation.

The President is scheduled to partake in the inauguration of the UN General Assembly's ordinary plenum's proceedings, and to attend the UN Security Council's session and to deliver a speech. Also, he will hold a series of meetings with UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, and a panel of Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Foreign Affairs Ministers.

Sleiman and the accompanying delegation will be later bound to Mexico on a state visit to meet with Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, a number of senior officials, and the Lebanese Diaspora.
