In another attempt to the "Israeli" cruel blockade on the impoverished Gaza area, humanitarian group Viva Palestina, formed by former British MP George Galloway, arrived Monday in Istanbul along with vehicles carrying some 40 activists.

The Viva Palestina convoy was met by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation, IHH, where IHH Deputy Chariman Ahmet Emin Dağ said, "The goal of the convoy is to ship humanitarian assistance to Palestine and to attract attention to the ongoing humanitarian tragedy there".

The convoy is now preparing its self in Istambul before heading towards Syria on October 1, where the convoy's organizers hope they would be able to enter the Gazan territories through the Rafah crossing.

This convoy, entitled "Gaza Europe Convoy", will be also visiting the families of the 31st of May martyrs of the Mavi Marmara.

The Mavi Marmara was a Turkish ship in the Turkish-led Freedom Flotilla to Gaza, which faced a brutal "Israeli" aggression, causing the martyrdom of 9 Turkish activists, and the injury of some 60 others.
