The US-led invasion of Afghanistan marks its ninth year of civilian and foreign troop casualties and many more damages.

October 7th marking the ninth anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan brings 30 deaths with it as US forces continue its raids and attacks.

The United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under claims of crushing the Taliban terrorist group following the September 11 attacks in New York.

Afghans continue suffering insecurity and instability despite the presence of more than 150,000 US-led forces.

The largest grassroots US peace organization, Peace Action, along with 10 other US organizations and coalitions, are urging local communities and activists to take action to end the catastrophic war.

"With the highest number of civilian and soldier deaths this year and the recent failed election, clearly the Obama administration's military strategy is failing," said Paul Kawika Martin, the group's policy and political director, reported Press TV.

"For over a year, polls show American voters against this war. More recently they turned against President Obama's handling of Afghanistan. Americans want troops and war dollars to come home," he added.
