Cuba Condemns US Sanctions on Iran

In an international attempt to defend Iran's right to its nuclear program, Cuba joins in as it condemned the US sanction on Iran's peaceful nuclear program.
In an official visit to the Iranian capital of Tehran Saturday, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki, said, "I would like to express the Cuban government's support for Iran's peaceful nuclear activities".
The Cuban minister also added that his country would be interested to cooperate and work with the Islamic Republic in Iran in all fields, whether politics, economic, or scientific.
On his part, Mottaki affirmed that both countries have shared long strategic relations based on mutual interests, with a further will to develop these relations, where he also added that Rodriguez's visit enhanced joint cooperation.
Western countries, led by the US, tried to impose a new round of sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, claiming that it is military.
Iran however, has strictly repeated that its nuclear program is peaceful, where it is one of the signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), in addition to being under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
