Syria’s Shaaban: Nothing Can Prevent Hariri from Visiting Syria

Syrian President Bashar Assad's advisor Buthaina Shaaban said that Syrian-Saudi relations are positive, noting that "During the past hours, Damascus received the advisor of Saudi King Abdel Aziz Bin Abdallah, in a visit that came in context of enhancing bilateral relations and discussing the overall situation in the Arab world."

In an interview with As-Safir newspaper published on Monday, Shaaban touched on the possibility of Lebanese PM Saad Hariri visiting Syria soon.

Shaaban said "There is no problem in the relationship between Syria and Hariri and a meeting could take place at any moment."

"Contacts with Prime Minister Saad Hariri may stop at one point and then resume, depending on the circumstances," Shaaban added.

"Things are good," Shaaban stressed, pointing out that an Assad-Hariri contact may take place "at any moment when the need arises."
