Qahwaji: Army Ready for any Security Outbreak in all Lebanese Regions

Lebanese Army Chief General Jean Qahwaji confirmed that the Lebanese Army is working with all its powers to stop any internal conflicts triggered by those working on the path of "Israel".

In this context, General Qahwaji declared the army's intension to prevent any incitement, adding that in case of any internal conflict there will be no winner, for Lebanon will be the one the Lebanese would lose.

In an interview with An-Nahar newspaper, General Qahwaji denied claims that Hizbullah conducted maneuvers in order to control the city of Beirut, adding that neither Hizbullah nor any other party would need to do a maneuver at his place of residence.

Furthermore, Jean Qahwaji explained that his concerns regarding the Special Tribunal for Lebanon's indictment are motivating the army's readiness all the time in order to interfere in any internal outbreaks.

On the same level, Lebanese Army Chief said, "The Army is capable of lifting its readiness to a 100% in one hour. We have assembled enough army in the middle of Beirut, in addition to examining other places which represent the most sensitive locations, which are more likely to be keys to any tension".

Qahwaji stressed that the Lebanese Army will be ready for any security tension or outbreak in all regions, especially in the Lebanese Christian regions.

"I want to stress that the Army is the more united and solid than before, and it will be the guarantee for everyone [the Lebanese]", Qahwaji concluded, adding that the Army shall stay away from any division or tensions witnessed by Lebanon.
