MP Nawwar Saheli: Indictment Born Dead in Womb of So-Called International Tribunal
Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc Member MP Nawwar Saheli said that "If not for the assassination of the late rafik Hariri, the US would not have been able to introduce its scheme in Lebanon that quickly."
Saheli elaborated that during only one month after the assassination of former MP Rafiq Hariri in
2005; the United States established a foothold in Lebanon.
"One month after the Hariri assassination, Americans were back in Lebanon with a team in Lebanon that boasts about its relationship with the US," Saheli added.
Hizbullah MP further said "Hizbullah is not afraid of any indictment to be issued by the STL'" adding "To those who believe we are afraid, we tell them that we are not afraid of an indictment nor we are afraid of those who stand behind this "Israeli"- American decision."
"The other camp, and the US behind it, thought that if they cannot curtail the resistance and Hizbullah then let us launch a new called indictment a decision which has only one goal, stirring up strife in Lebanon and point the blame on what they have called rogue elements, but the resistance is the real target behind that," Saheli pointed out during a ceremony in the Southern village Sohmor.
Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc MP described the indictment as born dead, and is dead now in the Specail Tribunal for Lebanon, highlighting that it is it is politicized and aims at sowing strife in the country.
Turning to the false witnesses' issue, MP Saheli explained that an opposition proposal to refer this issue to trial is a Lebanese demand, a demand by Lebanese people who have lived four years of political crisis.
In addition, Saheli said "When an accusation leads to prison, animosity, semi-strife, political differences and a crisis in the country that nearly brought us to the brink of civil war in 2008, and all of that is the result of some people who misled the investigation and lied."
Saheli also called for "Resorting to voting in the coming Ministerial session on the false witnesses' file, reiterating the importance of starting a partial investigation with those witnesses.
Hizbullah MP stressed that "The solution is to put these on trial in order to know why did they conceal the truth and who is behind them."
On the Resistance, Saheli said that the resistance is the pride of Lebanon and its source of strength, adding that neither an indictment, nor any other means will anyone be able to target the resistance. "The resistance, its people, army, and allies are all ready to confront anyone trying to target the resistance," Saheli added.
