Former General Security Chief Major General Jamil Sayyed condemned on Monday Special Tribunal for Lebanon President Antonio Cassese's decision to reject his motions to disqualify Judges Ralph Ricahy and Afif Chamseddine.

A statement issued by his media office said that Cassese based his decision on errors and alterations of facts committed by Riachy and Chamseddine, demanding that a technical team be appointed to have Riachy and Sayyed undergo a lie detector test in The Hague.

Addressing the request for Chamseddine to step down, the statement explained that it was made "simply because the judge was appointed during the Seniora government that has been condemned by a UN team of recklessly imprisoning the four generals."

It concluded by saying that Sayyed is prepared to pay the expenses of the polygraph test in case the STL does not have the funds for this matter.
