"The Syrian-Saudi initiative is serious and being followed up although its details are still awaiting final agreement on issues that would help find a solution accepted by all Lebanese sides," said Hizbullah SG Deputy His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem in an interview with Lebanese daily An-Nahar.

He added "Up to the moment, efforts are still continuing and we are waiting for the results."

Sheikh Qassem, while hoping to achieve "the expected results soon" he noted that "the time was not ripe yet."

Hizbullah SG Deputy pointed out that "Washington is practicing international, regional, and local pressures, whether declared or undeclared, in order to accelerate the issuance of the indictment accusing Hizbullah (....). Sheikh Qassem further noted that there are efforts to fail any solution that might come up.

He wondered "Will the Lebanese parties that are keen of Lebanon and its security confront the politicization and the U.S. pressures campaign?"

On the reaction of Hizbullah in case the indictment was issued before any settlement is ripe, Sheikh Qassem stressed "The U.S. should be prevented from playing with Lebanon's fate, and the Lebanese should not surrender."

Furthermore, Sheikh Qassem emphasized the opposition does not aim at boycotting the government; rather there is a serious and sensitive file that concerns all Lebanon, and concerns the truth as well. His Eminence noted this file is the false witnesses' file, which should be resolved in order to reveal the truth.

As for the CBC report on the telecoms sector, Sheikh Qassem refrained from commenting, noting that the resistance party is not interested in commenting on such a report, reiterating that such a report leads to the questioning of the tribunal's integrity and credibility as well as it being politicized.
