Berri: If Lebanese Army Doesn’t Enter Ghajar, It Remains Occupied

Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri confirmed that the "Israeli" persistence wouldn't have gone too far in confrontation if the UN hadn't gave up its powers after not forcing any of its resolutions' implementation on "Israel".

On another hand, Berri expressed pity that Shimon Peres had to announce, instead of the UN Security Council, that "Israel" implemented what resolution 1701 states.

Speaker Berri's stance came while receiving a group of official delegations including British Ambassador Frances Guy and former Minister Abdul Rahim Murad.

Nabih Berri wondered till when the international community will continue keeping lies for "Israelis" concerning the Ghajar.

Berri clarified that since 4 years, after couple of months pass by, nothing occurs, and the current "Israeli" proposal to withdraw is nothing but a virtual withdrawal from the Ghajar.

Lebanese Speaker added that if the Lebanese army, or anything that resembles the Lebanese sovereignty, does not enter the Ghajar, then it will not be considered a withdrawal, but an implicit occupation.

Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri stressed on the UNIFIL's mission, which is supporting the Lebanese army to achieve international borderlines, and not take its place, which is stated in resolution 425 that is also mentioned several times in resolution 1701.

Speaker Berri further explained that "Israel" has never implemented resolution 1701, wondering why the international community has forgotten that the latter resolution has stated, for the first time, Shibaa Farms and Kfar Shouba Hills, and are trying to draw a picture that the Ghajar is the only thing left to the total implementation of the resolution.
