Feltman Concerned over Wikileaks Cables, Fears Washington’s Allies in Lebanon Might Be Harmed
Local Editor
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman expressed his deep concern over cables released by WikiLeaks on Lebanon, saying the information might be used to sow strife in the country.
In a statement to An-Nahar newspaper, Feltman said he was afraid that "some Lebanese nationalists would be harmed for cooperating with the U.S. for better ties between Washington and Beirut."
Feltman described the leaks as an "attack on the international community," saying they obstruct diplomatic work aimed at solving crises in different parts of the world.
