Head of the Union Party former MP Abdel Rahim Mourad called the official authorities in Lebanon to take action towards the leaks of the whistleblower website related to Lebanon.

He said that the authorities should take the leaks into consideration, and the matter should be transferred to public prosecution so that the appropriate judicial decisions are made.

This, according to Mourad should take place after lifting parliamentary immunities of which many use as cover.

MP Mourad denounced the hacking of the Lebanese online newspaper Al Akhbar, noting that the attack on the website is an attempt to affect freedom of expression and speech, and an attempt to silence such an outlet of truth that delivers news on the country (Lebanon) and the region. He also pointed out "the attack came right after the newspaper published the (Wikileaks) cables that expose the conspirator role of the United States against the freedom of peoples."

Mourad finally said that the cables proved all the US embassies proved to be dens of espionage that aim at weakening the national capabilities in such a way that serves the interests of the scheme of hegemony in the world.
