Suleiman to Al Mustaqbal: Syrian-Saudi Dialogue Ongoing, Security Situation under Control

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said "he is closely following the Saudi-Syrian dialogue by continuous contacts with the two countries' leaderships either directly or through Prime Minister Saad Hariri." He assured that the dialogue is ongoing.

In a statement to Al Mustaqbal newspaper, Suleiman noted that "the Baabda tripartite summit that included Saudi king Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz and Syrian President Bashar Al Assad drew the outlines of a solution, further adding that the security situation is under control and will remain stable."

Asked about Wednesday's cabinet session, Suleiman said: "Every side has the right to express its opinion. That's part of our democratic system. What matters is that the politicians should express their opinions and put pressure on other parties within state institutions."
