Military Sources to As-Safir: UN, UNIFIL, Failing to Mark Maritime Borders with Occupied Palestine
Local Editor
High-ranked Lebanese military sources, confirmed to As-Safir daily newspaper that the Lebanese government gave the UN its maps and documents to mark the maritime borders between Lebanon and the Palestinian occupied territories.
In this context, the sources added that the UN did not make any action, while it should have asked the "Israeli" government to hand in its maps and documents, in order to take action.
The same military sources affirmed that the UN and the UNIFIL are blaming each other for the failure of marking the maritime borders between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.
As-Safir added that the UNIFIL considers itself unauthorized to perform this task, while the UN did not present any convincing excuse explaining why it didn't charge the UNIFIL with marking the borders.
Sources further added that if the UN and UNIFIL failures were due to failure to work, then it is a problem. The sources affirmed that the problem would be worse if the failures were due to collusion with the "Israeli" enemy.
On this level, the sources wondered how the UNIFIL is able to practice its duties without adopting any clear border line between the Lebanese coastal waters, and the occupied Palestinian's.
Sources wondered to As-Safir saying how the UNIFIL would know whether an "Israeli" ship violated the Lebanese maritime borders or not.
