Syrian Ambassador: People-Army-Resistance Equation to Protect Lebanon and its Civil Peace

Syrian ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali voiced optimism, saying "we hope that the New Year brings good for Lebanon and the Lebanese."

In remarks published Friday by the daily As-Safir, Ali reiterated the importance of the "army-people-resistance equation", which can protect Lebanon and maintain its civil peace, by that reinforce Lebanon's national sovereignty.

He also stressed that the Saudi-Syrian initiative must be accompanied by Lebanese efforts in order to strengthen their unity.
