Islamic Jamaa Calls for Protecting Resistance Arms, Urges Its Followers Don’t Take Part in March 13 Festival

"Elaph" news website stated that the Islamic Jamaa leadership called upon all its followers not to take part in the March 13 festival. The news website stating that the Islamic Jamaa did not issue any statement, but only spoke directly to its followers and those concerned with the decision.

The Islamic Jamaa's position come in accordance with its consensual role, especially on national platforms, so that it would not be classified to be with any of the two disputing teams, whether the majority or minority, according to Islamic Jamaa Council Member, Abdullah Babti.

The website also mentioned that a delegation from the Islamic Jamaa met Wednesday with Hizbullah officials, where both parts stressed on the importance of protecting the resistance and its weapons.

Both parties added that the resistance should be supported in its position against the continuous "Israeli" aggression against Lebanon. The Islamic Jamaa reiterated its stance refusing any weapon to be used inside the country, and have it part of internal disputes that would deteriorate its image and role.
