Berri Requests Arab Governmental Acknowledgment of Libyan Transitional National Council, Urges Gaddafi’s Prosecution
Local Editor
Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri urged in a letter Head of Arab Parliamentary Union, Mohammad Bin Mubarak Al Khalifi, and Heads of Arab Parliaments, to conduct urgent calls to all Arab government for an immediate acknowledgment of The Interim Transitional National Council representing the Libyan popular revolution and anti-Gaddafi regime resistance.
In his letter, Speaker Berri confirmed that it is not acceptable to leave the Libyan people without backup facing the aerial, land, and naval attacks against them by Muammar Gaddafi's brutal regime.
He added that the Libyan people should not be left in light of the misleading political and media campaign led by the Gaddafi regime, aiming at hiding the bloody crimes committed.
Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri called upon the Arab Parliamentary Union to immediately request the prosecution of Gaddafi and his assistants in the inhumane war crimes, including freedom straining, kidnapping, and murder.
