Hoss: Arms Proved Useful in Resisting “Israel”, We Don’t Mind Exploiting it to Defend Lebanon
Local Editor
Former Lebanese PM Salim Hoss confirmed that the arms were proved useful in the resistance, also referred to the anti-resistance arms campaign escalated lately, with a demand to disarm any party possessing arms.
In this context, he added, "We also are against arms and exploiting them inside Lebanon, but we don't mind the presence of a weapon and exploiting it to defend Lebanon and the Lebanese against the "Israeli" enemy and its aggressions, which Lebanon had been subject to many them in the past".
In a statement announced on behalf of the "National Unity Platform", PM Hoss pointed out that those opposing the presence of the weapons, seeking disarmament, should explain to the civilians how would the "Israeli" assaults be confronted.
"Would surrendering to the Zionist violence be the way to be followed?" Hoss stated.
Furthermore, he said that the arms have proved their usefulness in the resistance, referring to the evidence, that "Israel" hasn't been assaulting Lebanon for a while now.
On this level, he clarified that the "Israelis" have fear, because they are aware now that any "Israeli" attack on Lebanon, would be followed by a tough respond from the Lebanese side.
Former Lebanese PM believed that insisting on abandoning the arms, means there is a vital defense factor being neglected.
He considered that if the complaints were against the exploitation of the weapons inside the Lebanese territories, then the issue should focus on setting what could guarantee not doing so under any circumstances.
Salim Hoss said sometimes stances against the arms come through escalations that warn of security repercussions, calling upon politicians to avoid all what could lead to security disruption.
