As-Safir Sources: Shamaa Espionage Device Monitors Southern Lebanese Map, UNIFIL Headquarters
Local Editor
As-Safir Lebanese daily published on Saturday, according to sources, information over the latest revelation of the "Israeli" espionage device in Shamaa are near the Lebanese southern city of Tyr.
The information stated that a specific mechanism enabled the resistance of detecting signals in many Lebanese areas, starting at the valley between Ansar and Zrariyeh villages.
The daily added that once the signals were detected, the resistance informed the army intelligence, which on its part, hurried to send technical experts who scanned the area, further on discovering that the signals sourced to some wires.
Furthermore, As-Safir newspaper reported that the same situation reoccurred when the resistance security apparatus detected intermittent signals or vibrations in Shamaa, and then informed the army intelligence, which after search found the espionage device located at a strategic location.
According to the same sources, the daily added that the espionage device was found in the area monitored by the Italian UNIFIL troops and covers the whole of south Lebanon's map, starting from the coast of Bayadah, Tyr until the Naqoura, in addition to several kilometers inside the southern territories.
As-Safir clarified that the discovered espionage device is an artificial rock manufactured by "Fiberglass" material; the same artificial rocks used in both Barouk and Sanin espionage systems.
In the same context, As-Safir sources clarified that the difference between the latest discovered device and the ones before, is that Shamaa's espionage device is remote controlled by reconnaissance planes, operating it whenever it wants. The sources added that as soon as the installed camera starts operation, live coverage is view to the "Israeli" reconnaissance plane, which saves what is captures; photographic images or videos. The plane can stop the espionage system from operating as soon as it collects what it needs of live images for its targeted area.
On this level, the sources explained the reason why the aforementioned system is not operated all the time, saying the "Israelis" thought they would avoid being detected through the signals and vibrations, which made the discovery a bit difficult. On the other hand, the previous espionage systems [Barouk and Sanin] operated 24/24, As-Safir sources affirmed.
The sources further clarified that the revealed [Shamaa] espionage device is of high-tech characteristics, where the aerial remote controller is capable of operating it directing, and can also move the camera installed to face any location it wants.
What's most dangerous concerning the Shamaa espionage system, according to the sources, is that the area it covers includes the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura, clarifying that this site is directly and constantly monitored by the "Israeli" enemy.
