Head of the Union Party and former Minister Abdel Rahim Murad slammed the stances launched by caretaker PM Saad Hariri towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying "Those who attack Iran currently used to defend it at the time Shah was the ruler, when it executed the US-"Israeli" scheme. Now, they attack it because it stands by the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine and supports the just Arab causes, on top of which is the Palestinian cause."

Following a meeting with head of the "Murabitoun Movement", Major Gen. Mustafa Hamdan, Murad stressed that "the attack ours into the service of the American-Zionist scheme which aims at controlling the new alterations taking place on the Arab and regional arenas. He further considered that the right Arab stance is to fortify relations between the brethrens especially in neighboring countries on top of which are Turkey and Iran.

Murad, in response to a question on the Wikileaks scandals related to the armament of the "Future Party" and the "Lebanese Forces", said that the prior 7 May phase uncovered that the March 14 camp has been distributing arms (is still doing so) and have been training their members in different places.

He reiterated that the Resistance arms are for confronting the enemy.

On his part, Hamdan said that the tools of the former US ambassador to Lebanon have started to fool themselves just like they did during the previous years, when they thought that the United States is their sole salvage. Hamdan warned that the United States and "Israel" are trying to cover the massacres taking place in the Gaza Strip, and divert attention from the central cause.

Concerning Hariri's attack on Iran, Hamdan said "PM Hariri works under foreign tutelage and with directions, particularly from his master and boss (Jeffrey) Feltman." Hamdan further explained that Hariri's instigation of Sunni-Shiite strife stems from his unawareness of the developments on the regional level.
