Berri: I support a serious and fruitful dialogue in the presence of five-party Arab Ministerial Committee
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 14-1-2008
Speaker Nabih Berri told the Lebanese daily As-Safir that the national roundtable of 2006 was an important experience for all political factions.
"The roundtable, and later the consultations between factions, saw the discussion of important and delicate matters, especially the presidential elections, the national-unity government and the electoral law," Berri said.
Berri said he supports a serious and fruitful dialogue, referring to Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa's call to revive national discussions between feuding factions in order to find a solution to the present crisis.
"Any dialogue without the presence of the five-party Arab Ministerial Committee and Amr Moussa would be seen as a substitute to the Arab initiative, and this is not acceptable at all," he said.
