Caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri expressed solidarity with Palestinians on Nakba Day and called on nations of the World to champion Palestinian right of self-determination on the 63rd anniversary of Nakba or catastrophe.

Hariri seized the occasion of "Israeli" firing on demonstrators in Maroun Al Rass to condemn the "Israeli" action as a flagrant and irrational aggression. He however, reiterated that peace in the region could only come as a translation of the Arab peace initiative by Saudi monarch Abdallah in Beirut.

Hariri added that "Israel" could only face rightful demands by Palestinians and Arabs through confrontation and massacre in Lebanon, the Golan Heights and Palestine. The caretaker Prime Minister also reiterated commitment to UN Resolution 1701 and held the international community and UNIFIL fully responsible for the freshly perpetrated "Israeli" massacre of four and the wounding of many others.

Furthermore, PM Hariri contacted President Suleiman and Army Commander Jean Kahwaji over the "Israeli" aggression and deliberated with them over securing the south and national sovereignty.
