Wakim: Public Prosecution Should Take Action

The head of "People's Movement," Najah Wakim viewed that what happened in the Ministry of Communications unequivocally revealed the fact that the real power in Lebanon is not exercised through the constitutional institutions, which have been transformed now to just frangible structures used only to cover up the real power that does not work according to the provisions of the Constitution and the law. However, they are driven by hidden and uncovered external and internal parties to which they work against the interests of Lebanese people".
In his statement, Wakim wondered, "Is it possible that the cell phone company operates in Lebanon without any legal basis, and outside the authority of the competent minister, and even against his will?"
He pointed out that "the seriousness of this network is that it does not cover the Lebanese territories only, but it also covers part of the Syrian territory that is passing a crisis."
Reminding of cell phone networks that were revealed in the past two years as collaborating with the "Israeli" enemy through breaking into the mobile telecommunication sector, Wakim asked "Who is running this network, and for what purposes?"
Wakim concluded, "the President of the Republic has done well when he requested the deferral of what happened in the Ministry of Communications to the Public Prosecution Department to take a decision in this armed rebellion" adding that " we must not be waiting for the Public Prosecutor's action, and no one can predict what will happen during this period.
