Syria’s Assad Congratulates Lebanon on New Government

In a telephone call, the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad congratulated Lebanese President Michel Suleiman on the government's formation, Suleiman's office said in a statement.
Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Monday announced the formation of a new 30-member cabinet in which an alliance led by the powerful Shiite militant group Hizbullah, which is close to Syria, holds the majority.
Also, Syrian President contacted on Monday by phone House Speaker Nabih Berri and congratulated him for the long-delayed cabinet formation. He hoped this achieved step would have good impact on the entire Arab world.
