The Minister of Youth and Sports in the new government, Faisal Karami absolutely rejected that his presence in the government of Najib Mikati, be "an introduction to inherit a policy that he does not on the whole believe in" adding that it "in this government, he represents a political line and a broad current led by former Prime Minister Omar Karami, who is still in the midst of political action in the general Lebanese scene as well as a spearhead in the defense of the national line, the principles and parameters laid down by Abdul Hamid Karami and that were followed by the former Prime Minister Rashid Karami."

In an interview with "As- Safir" newspaper Karami was keen to "turn the consultations page on authoring, because the post-government formation phase differs from what preceded it, and today is another day of work, production and public service."

Karami did not hide the fact of the consensus he obtained from the former opposition, with all its components, and the sacrifice offered by the Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri through which he saved the nation and the government at once. Karami did not deny the confidence that Omar Karami's current has provided him and his representation of the former Sunni opposition that represents 40 percent of the sect.

Expressing optimism in the new government, Karami noted "the first meeting of the government reflected the existence of chemistry that brings together its members motivated to work and production out of Prime Minister Najib Mikati's enthusiasm, "describing Mikati as having a real charisma and a direction and determination towards recording achievements."

He was also keen to express his openness to different factions, especially the Hariri family after the recent municipal elections witnessed cooperation between him and former Prime Minister Hariri, Saad Hariri, who commissioned Nadir Hariri to follow-up consultations with him, at that time refereeing to what was known as "the Committee of Faisal and Nadir."

On the other hand, the Minister of Youth and Sports explained, "our attitudes are clear, and our alliances are static," confirming that "to us, the resistance is an absolute necessity as it created an unprecedented balance of terror with the "Israeli" enemy which does not hesitate in the daily violation of our sea, land, and atmosphere through spy networks and cameras."

"Danger is not from the resistance, but from the "Israeli" enemy and we believe in the need to establish better relations with brotherly Syria," he concluded.
