The current cabinet has enormous difficulties and responsibilities, inherited from March 14 governments, to overcome, according to Agriculture Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan, who stated on Sunday that democracy is not one of the opposition's strengths.

"March 14 camp spoke endlessly about democracy and how to oppose," said the Minister, "but the camp's conduct in the first days of cabinet formation does not relate to democracy in any way." Hajj Hassan added that the cabinet of Saad Hariri was responsible for creating economic and social disasters that needed radical solutions.

"The new majority insisted that the cabinet was Lebanese made and did not have traces of foreign intervention in it. The American administration is worried and disappointed because it is used to having a say in every issue," Haj Hassan reiterated. He concluded that the US only cared about its interests and the interest of the Zionist state, and hence, did not approve of the new cabinet.
